Most theaters will give discounted movie tickets for adults 65+, but some movie venues might use different age breaks like 50 and over or even 70+. Senior movie discounts will also vary by location. It’s best to call your local theater to confirm information on restrictions. If you do use Fandango to find and purchase tickets, you can click on the showtimes and view ticket categories accordingly. The categories indicate the cost of the admission for that theater, their discount policy, and requirements. Note that not all theaters accept Fandango tickets, so ask if that happens to be the case.
Bow Tie Cinemas. Bow Tie is another site that provides information about showcased cinemas that feature senior discounts. The tickets must be purchased from them on their website, and they only accept credit cards or Bow Tie Cinemas Gift Cards. Once you are at the theater, you pick up the tickets at the ticketing kiosk. Like several other movie theaters, reserved seating applies, and they will not refund the cost of a ticket once the movie has started.
Going to the movies is a fine way to enjoy a random afternoon. Knowing that senior discounts are available to people who are 60 and over (and sometimes 65+) makes the experience even sweeter. Choose a local movie theater and find out if they provide discounts for seniors. Then go to the show, eat some popcorn, chocolate, and hot dogs, and be entertained for a few hours.
